Perfect Mistake

 

Tiny fingers meant to grip life’s laughter

were stilled to become death’s dream.

Hush ‘a bye baby, close your eyes,

Never from your sleep to rise.

 

You weren’t granted childhood’s play,

Your life being ended before you saw day.

What God gave you, you mother did take,

for you were a perfect mistake…
